5 Atom Mini-ITX Boards Reviewed
Intel D945GCLF2 - Dual Core Atom
Intel's D945GCLF2 is the first Dual Core Atom Mini-ITX board, using the Atom 330 processor.

The D945GCLF2 will reach market just 4 months after the first Atom Mini-ITX board, though it doesn't replace it. Build style and connectors are very similar to the original D945GCLF board, with the following changes: the CPU is now a dual Core Atom 330, running at 1.6GHz with a TDP of 8W; there is an additional S-Video port; LAN is now Gigabit speed; an additional USB 2.0 pin header has been added giving 8 possible in total (4 on the back, 4 on pin headers)

Like the D945GCLF, we have a gripe with the heatsink height of the D945GCLF2. The board is 3.5mm shorter than the D945GCLF, but will still only fit in a subset of all the Mini-ITX cases available. We measured the total height of the board at 46.5mm, with the heatsink 4mm higher than the Gigabyte board.
