The "NT Gas Station 2.0"

BUT FIRST to get familiar with how the Mini-ITX
board performs I installed WIN98SE on a 10 gig drive while
all of the parts were still outside.
Two thumbs up!
Mounting the motherboard was accomplished
by cutting a piece of 5/8" plywood 6-5/8" square
then rounding the bottom left and right edges so it would
contact the 'floor' of the computer 'case'.
The surfaces to be joined were roughed up
with coarse sandpaper then Plumbers Goop sealer/adhesive was
sandwiched in between.
The next day, when the mounting board was
set I installed the PSU and harddrive, plugged in the M/B
power, IDE, power switch, reset switch, power light, and,
harddrive light cables. After that I pushed four plastic standoffs
(with the nubs cut off) into the M/B, put four dabs of Plumbers
Goop on the plywood where the standoffs would make contact,
eased the MB in an pressed it into place, then left it alone
to bond.
The plate around all the connectors is held
in place by little dabs of black sticky gum that is used to
make weather-tight cable connections.
The lights and switches are fixed in place
with Plumbers Goop, although I think Shoe Goo would work as
well.
I think my next project might involve an orange
traffic cone or maybe a roll-up PC with canvas case.
